Why We Now Sell Growth (and what we still refuse to invoice for)

We spent years refusing to sell monthly search work, because most of it is an invoice for something nobody can point to. That refusal stands. Here is what we built instead, and what we still will not bill you for.

We did not change our minds about the invoice. We changed what is on it.

For a long time this house did not sell monthly search work. Not as a retainer, not as an add-on, and not quietly inside the care plan. We said so in public and we turned the work down.

We sell it now. It is called Growth, it is published on the rate sheet like everything else, and it is worth explaining what changed, because it is not what usually changes.

What we were refusing

We were not refusing the work. We were refusing the shape of the invoice.

The standard arrangement is a monthly fee for optimization, a word that survives precisely because nobody has to define it. Somewhere in the month things are done. At the end of it a report arrives with numbers that move. Ask what was built and the answer is a category rather than a thing.

That is retainer theater, and it is not a small problem. It is a bill you cannot audit, sent to somebody who is not in a position to audit it, for a result nobody controls. We would rather be the shop that told you no.

That refusal stands. Nothing below softens it.

What changed

We built a version where the work is visible. Not better reported. Visible: every month you can open the site and see the specific things that were not there last month.

  • Two new pages a month, each one built to win a single specific search that a real customer actually types
  • One article a month, written for your customers rather than for a crawler
  • Your Google Business Profile worked like the revenue channel it is, not set up once and abandoned
  • Month to month, cancel with 30 days notice, and everything built stays yours

The first item is the whole difference. A page built to win one specific search is a thing that exists. It has an address you can open on your phone. Either it is there at the end of the month or it is not, and you do not need us to tell you which.

That is also why it is two pages and not a number chosen to sound generous. Two is what can be built properly in a month by the person who built your site, on a page that reads like the rest of it. A larger number would be a promise about volume, and volume is the tell.

What we still will not invoice for

This list is not fine print. It is the reason the rest of the plan is worth buying, and it has not moved:

  • A vague audit. A document listing what is wrong, delivered as though finding the problem were the work. If we find something broken on a site we look after, we fix it.
  • A rank-tracking dashboard as a deliverable. A dashboard is a way of looking at what happened. Charging a monthly fee for the looking, rather than for the doing, is the oldest version of this bill.
  • Link schemes. Paid links, exchanges, private networks, directories nobody reads. It is against the rules of the only search engine that matters, it is bought from places you would not want your name, and it is the thing that gets a site penalised years later.
  • A promise about position one. Nobody owns the results page and the rules change without notice. Anybody who guarantees you a position is either misinformed or counting on you not checking.

So Growth buys the work, on a stated schedule, and it does not buy a ranking. We will tell you what we built and what we saw. We will not tell you we control the outcome, because we do not, and neither does anyone charging you as though they did.

What it costs

Grow is $495 a month. Grow Max is $695 a month. Each carries a $750 one time setup, and Site Care and Hosting is included at no charge while a plan is active, with its 12 month minimum waived for as long as the plan runs.

Both tiers are published in full on the rate sheet, deliverable by deliverable, in the same table as every other figure this house quotes. If a thing is not listed there, it is not part of the plan and you are not paying for it.

The part that did not change

The site still has to be built properly first, and none of that is billed separately. One clear heading per page, titles and descriptions written for a human, fast on a phone, structured data describing the business, a sitemap and sensible URLs and nothing important hidden behind a script. That is not a service. It is what building a site correctly means, and charging you for the floor was never on the table.

The other unglamorous half has not changed either: a profile that is complete and correct, reviews from real customers, and your name, address and phone number written identically everywhere they appear. The difference is that we used to tell you how to do all of that and leave you to it. Now you can hand it to us, at a published price, and see what got done.

If you want a site built that way, see what the Studio builds and what it costs. If you want it to keep earning after it is live, that is Growth. If you are not sure it needs either, send us the address and we will tell you honestly.
