Concept: Plumbing, Spring Valley
A plumbing site laid out as a single working day, opening on a dark predawn hero and ending at a dark dusk contact band, with a sun that climbs and sets across the section breaks.
A design concept, not a client site. The name and every detail of the business it was drawn for have been replaced.
The design decisions
- Unbounded, a wide round display face like lettering on a truck door, sets the headlines, paired with Plus Jakarta Sans for body text.
- The palette is a predawn navy for the hero and the closing contact band, copper for the setting sun, phone underlines and buttons, a water blue for the morning sun, and paper and pale blue washes for the bands in between.
- Every section break is a drawn divider with a dotted arc across the full width and a sun placed on it, rising in blue on the left near the top of the page and setting in copper on the right just above the contact band, with the used part of the arc traced solid.
- The how a job runs timeline is a four column ruled row labeled by light rather than clock time, and the contact band pairs a large underlined phone number with a quote form while a call bar pins to the bottom on phones.
