Concept: Heating and cooling, Newark
A heating and cooling site whose hero is the service menu itself, typeset large and tagged repair, replace or keep it running, with a drawn fork that shows how a diagnosis leads to a repair or a replacement.
A design concept, not a client site. The name and every detail of the business it was drawn for have been replaced.
The design decisions
- Titillium Web, a squared engineering sans, sets the menu, headings and labels, and Source Serif 4 handles the body copy and the italic lede in a plainer, human voice.
- The palette is brushed steel greys and white, a near black for the footer, and one red kept for the call button, the fork's node and the rule above the contact section.
- The hero is a stack of seven service names at display size, each in a ruled row with a small caps tag on the right, beside a single photo and over a thin dateline strip.
- The signature is a fork drawn in SVG: one boxed diagnosis on the left, a line that splits into two shaded branches, which folds to a single vertical line on phones.
