Concept: Gates and garage doors, Chula Vista

A small gate fabrication shop presented with plain editorial confidence: a full width photo of a finished gate, cream paper, navy linework and a single oxblood call button.

A design concept, not a client site. The name and every detail of the business it was drawn for have been replaced.

The design decisions

  • Barlow Condensed in uppercase sets the headings against Source Serif 4 for body text, so the page reads like a printed trade sheet rather than an app.
  • The palette is cream ground, navy for headings, rules, the top bar and the footer, and oxblood reserved only for call buttons, with no gradients anywhere.
  • The hero is a photograph at its own aspect ratio with the headline and one call button on a solid navy panel at the lower left, and on smaller screens the text drops under the photo onto cream.
  • Work photos sit in a tight asymmetric mosaic with one lead image beside a stacked column, every frame keeping its own proportions, and services follow as two ruled link lists instead of cards.
