Concept: Flight simulator training, San Diego
The site is set in the register of an instrument panel on a near black ground, with hairline rules, small monospace legends and two indicator colors that carry real meaning.
A design concept, not a client site. The name and every detail of the business it was drawn for have been replaced.
The design decisions
- Barlow Condensed in uppercase sets the headings like an airport gate board, Barlow carries body text on the same skeleton, and IBM Plex Mono handles legends, rates and hours.
- The palette is an ink black ground with a deep navy and a brighter navy for buttons, plus a green and an amber reserved as annunciator lights that show whether each simulator is certified or pending.
- The hero runs a full bleed photo behind a dark scrim with the headline, two buttons and a monospace line of hours and phone, and the header stays sticky on desktop.
- Below the hero, simulators and rooms share one card grid where device cards carry a top rule and a status pill, followed by a bordered reference table of training hours and a closing call band.
