Concept: Coffee shop, San Diego
A coffee bar you find inside a greenhouse: the site sits on a deep jungle green ground and every section is entered under a curtain of hanging leaves.
A design concept, not a client site. The name and every detail of the business it was drawn for have been replaced.
The design decisions
- Fraunces with its soft and wonky axes switched on carries the headlines and drink names so the serifs feel hand cut and leafy, paired with Outfit as a quiet geometric body face.
- The palette is a near black jungle green ground with warm paper cards, an amber accent kept to large display type, and a mid leaf green for the hanging vines.
- Every section seam carries a row of drawn vines that sway on their own slow timing, and the motion stops under reduced motion settings.
- A two location switch lives in the hero and swaps the location details in place, while on phones the headline moves below the photo and a pill shaped call button docks to the bottom of the screen.
