Concept: Coffee shop, National City
A coffee shop site built like a slow drip filter, with one coffee line running down the left rail that fills as you scroll while a single drop rides its tip.
A design concept, not a client site. The name and every detail of the business it was drawn for have been replaced.
The design decisions
- Lora, with its calligraphic italic, sets the lowercase wordmark, the italic phrase in the headline and the menu group names, while Be Vietnam Pro keeps body and menu text plain.
- The palette is leaf green, coffee brown and a flat ube purple on a warm cream ground, with ube kept decorative for the step separators and coffee used for the type and the menu panel.
- Sections vary in width on purpose: the story is a wide text column beside a narrow photo slot, the coffee menu bleeds off the right edge on a brown panel, the other menu groups sit in three columns and the visit block bleeds edge to edge in green.
- With reduced motion the drip line is drawn in full and the drop stays still, and on phones a fixed call bar sits at the bottom of the screen.
