Concept: Cafe, San Marcos
A small cafe site built around one signature pastry plate, with round plate frames for every food photo and the house order spelled out in a full width band.
A design concept, not a client site. The name and every detail of the business it was drawn for have been replaced.
The design decisions
- Libre Caslon Display sets the headlines, menu item names and wordmark like a printed bakery menu card, while rounded Nunito handles body text, labels and buttons.
- The palette is a warm apricot, a whipped cream page and a deep berry ink, with the apricot used as a tablecloth panel that bleeds off the right edge of the hero.
- Every food and drink image sits in a drawn round plate with a rim, a dashed glaze line and a recessed well, while the room and storefront get plain rectangular frames so the plate motif stays special.
- The room section draws its amenities as book spines on a berry shelf instead of cards, and on phones a fixed bottom call bar keeps the phone one tap away.
