What Site Care and Hosting Actually Covers

Every website we build carries Site Care and Hosting at $49/mo on a 12 month minimum term. It starts at checkout, and after twelve months it continues month to month and you can cancel anytime.

People ask what it is for, which is fair. Here is the whole list.

What it covers

• Hosting and SSL, kept current
• Security patches and platform updates
• Uptime, monitored by us
• Domain setup included, registration billed at cost
• A person who knows your build when you need something changed

The last line is the one that matters most and the one nobody prices. When something needs changing you are not filing a ticket with a company that has to go and read your site first. You are texting the studio that wrote it.

Why it is not optional

Because an unmaintained site is not a saving. It is a slow problem.

Certificates expire. Platforms move underneath you. A dependency that was fine in March has a security advisory against it by autumn. None of that announces itself: the site keeps looking exactly the same right up until the morning it does not load, and by then the person who could fix it has not looked at it in a year.

We would rather charge a small amount every month and keep the thing healthy than quote you an emergency.

What it is not

It is not a redesign, and it is not unlimited new pages. A small change, a new photograph, a price that moved, a member of staff who left: that is care. A second version of the site is a build, and it is priced as one on the rate sheet.

It is also not SEO. We do not sell rankings, we do not sell reports, and the care plan does not quietly include a service we do not offer.
